AhlulBayt News Agency: Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the Head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, had a meeting with members of the Headquarters for the Reconstruction of the Iraqi Shrines, which was held at the Office of the Management of the Islamic Seminaries on Sunday, June 8. During the meeting the Ayatollah appreciated the activities of this headquarters, called it a revolutionary institution that was formed in the context of the Islamic Revolution and should be remembered as one of the influential institutions of the revolution.
The Head of the Islamic Seminaries continued,” We, as Iranian individuals and as a seminary institution, appreciate the efforts of the Headquarters for the Reconstruction of the Iraqi Holy Shrines. This institution is a revolutionary one that emerged within the Islamic Revolution and should be considered a revolutionary institution. The community of enthusiasts and lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), especially Imam Hussein (PBUH), is a commendable, great and immense community that deserves gratitude.”
Referring to the spiritual, social and political dimensions of the reconstruction of the holy shrines, Ayatollah Arafi emphasized,” In addition to its inherent value, this movement has an important dimension in achieving the goals of the Islamic Revolution. A movement that strengthens the pillars of the revolution and deepens its message. These activities, which happen before the eyes of Iraqis, the Shiites and the Islamic world, play a strategic role. Also, the bond between Iran and Iraq, which is a blessed and effective one, is considered one of the great goals of Islam and Shiism. There is no bond with this strategic depth anywhere else.”
The Head of Iran’s Islamic seminaries further stated, "Efforts have been made to undermine this bond, but strengthening this connection, especially through your activities, is of great significance. The relation between Qom and Najaf seminaries is also of the same nature. There are many documents that show that the Americans and the enemies of the Islamic Revolution are plotting to distance these two countries from each other."
